Synopsis:
Review: By Andrew Fold (www.mrspencer.co.za)"When it comes to cramming the best house anthems onto two discs, no one does it better than Kevin Grenfell and Dean Fuel. Their latest release “House Anthems 4” is packed full of the season’s hottest dance tracks as well as some of the best remixes to hit clubs in the past few months including a track by Dean Fuel himself. Of course, the emphasis is on the mix, and Kevin Grenfell and Dean Fuel, who mixed disc one and two respectively, inject their distinctive styles into Anthems. The compilation is divided into two discs, one featuring a more commercial sound and the other highlighting a chunkier, clubbier mix.
Disc one kicks off with a remix of a Queen classic “Another one bites the dust”. The next track “Booty Luv” pushes things up a notch and draws the listener onto the dancefloor. From here each track has been carefully selected to provide the listener with an great blend of anthems wound together with some seamless turntable teasing. Key tracks on this CD for us are “Move your body” by Rhythm Republic vs Marshall Jefferson, “At Night” by Dave Spoon and the last track on the CD “Instant Moments” by Groovelift.
Dean Fuel’s mix is a wide and varied selection of anthems ranging from Sharam’s “Aqualight” and “Proper Education” by Twisted Society to Dean Fuels own track “Trippen Out”. This disc is perfect for pumping yourself up before a night out or as the soundtrack to your very own high energy social gathering. If you're not bouncing around the room upbeat style, then you're dragging your chin off the floor and chucking your arms in the air. Key tracks on this CD were “Hypnotize” by Laid Back Luke ft Stephen Granville, “Crunch” by Richard Dinsdale and Mark Knight and of course “Trippen out” by our very own Dean Fuel and Sentrafuge.
All of the above-mentioned songs are almost shamelessly infused with eighties remixes and electro hooks, but produced with a strong sense of dance-floor groove that keeps them from lapsing into cheesiness. With the House Anthems 4 CD we're given something that really doesn't fail to keep up with its predecessors."
